Combined Tibial Nerve Stimulation and Standing for People With SCI
About this trial
This trial is enrolling 12 participants with chronic spinal cord injury to test the combined effect of standing therapy and skin-surface (transcutaneous) tibial nerve stimulation on bladder function. Tibial nerve stimulation is a technique that uses mild electrical stimulation applied near the ankle to activate the tibial nerve, which connects to nerves in the lower spine that control bladder and pelvic floor function. If included, participants will undergo a 12-week program of standing therapy using a standing frame combined with tibial nerve stimulation 3 times per week. Final testing of bladder function will be performed after 8 months.
