This trial is enrolling 104 participants with acute cervical spinal cord injury to test the effect of duraplasty alongside bony decompression on movement and sensation. Duraplasty is a procedure where the protective covering (dura) around the spinal cord is carefully opened and enlarged to reduce pressure. Bony decompression is a surgery where part of the bone around the spinal cord is removed to create more space, also to relieve pressure. If included, participants will undergo decompression surgery either with or without duraplasty. Final testing of movement and sensory function will be performed after 1 year.
