If included, participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: \n1) 60 sessions of upper limb and trunk training with scTS.\n2) 40 sessions of upper limb and trunk training with scTS followed by 20 training session without scTS.\n3) 20 sessions of upper limb and trunk training with scTS followed by 40 training session without scTS.\nTraining time will be approximately 1 hour, 3-4 times per week. Rehabilitation therapy will involve exercises concentrating on fingers, hand, arm and trunk function. Final testing will be performed after 6 months.","age_from":18,"age_to":null,"ais_a":false,"ais_b":false,"ais_c":false,"ais_d":false,"ais_e":false,"time_since_injury_from":6,"time_since_injury_from_unit":"months","time_since_injury_to":null,"time_since_injury_to_unit":"years","healthy_volunteers":false,"inclusion_criteria":["Not have a colostomy bag or urotomy.","Not have an implanted pump (i.e. baclofen pump, pain pump, etc.)"],"study_type":"interventional","allocation":"N/A","brief_description":"This study is to understand how the combination of activity-based recovery training and targeted spinal cord transcutaneous stimulation (scTS) can improve participants' ability to use their hand, arms, and core.","detailed_description":"- participants will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: \n1) 60 sessions of upper limb and trunk training with scTS.\n2) 40 sessions of upper limb and trunk training with scTS followed by 20 training session without scTS.\n3) 20 sessions of upper limb and trunk training with scTS followed by 40 training session without scTS.\n-Training time will be approximately 1 hour, 3-4 times per week.\n- Rehabilitation therapy will involve exercises concentrating on fingers, hand, arm and trunk function. \n- A physical therapist will be at training and testing sessions.\n- Final testing will be performed after 6 months.","final_testing_performed":"6 months","version_id":4,"emsci_trial":false,"curation_status":"curated","overall_recruitment_status":"recruiting","primary_intervention":{"id":5,"name":"Technology","parent_id":null,"icon_name":"technology"},"primary_benefit":{"id":1,"name":"Arm/hand function","parent_id":null,"icon_name":"hand-expand"},"sex":"All","injury_level_from":"C1","injury_level_to":"C8","start_date":"2021-06-14","organization":"Kessler Foundation","benefits":[{"id":1,"name":"Arm/hand function","parent_id":null,"icon_name":"hand-expand"},{"id":5,"name":"General health","parent_id":null,"icon_name":"general-health"}],"injuries":[{"id":3,"name":"Traumatic","parent_id":1,"pivot":{"trial_id":5442,"injury_id":3}},{"id":6,"name":"Non-traumatic","parent_id":2,"pivot":{"trial_id":5442,"injury_id":6}}],"interventions":[{"id":3,"name":"Rehabilitation","parent_id":null,"icon_name":"medical-rehabilitation"},{"id":5,"name":"Technology","parent_id":null,"icon_name":"technology"}],"outcome_measures":[],"recovery_mechanisms":[],"published_at":"2024-03-19T15:24:19.000000Z","modified_at":"2024-03-19T15:24:19.000000Z"},"layout":"trial"}},
